An introduction on Alignable is a warm, personal handoff between two of your connections. When you make an introduction, you're putting your reputation behind it, vouching that these two members should meet. Alignable places all three of you in a shared group chat so they can connect directly, and no connection credit is required.
You can only introduce members who are already your connections. You cannot introduce someone who is not yet in your network.
Introductions are different from referrals. A referral is sharing the profile to another member. It does not put your reputation behind it, only that you've met or had a conversation with that person you are referring. An introduction puts your reputation behind connecting two people you trust. See How Do I Send a Referral on Alignable? for more on referrals.
Three ways to make an introduction
Method 1: Through Allie
Allie, your AI Networking Coach, will sometimes suggest that two of your connections are a great fit for each other and prompt you to introduce them.
- When Allie surfaces a suggestion, review the two connections she recommends.
- If you agree they should meet, accept the prompt to make the introduction.
- Allie drafts an introduction message for you. Use it as a starting point, then add your own details about why you think they are a good match and why you are putting your trust behind the connection.
- Alignable creates a shared group chat with all three of you.
Acting on Allie's suggestions is one of the highest-value networking actions you can take. It builds trust with both connections and strengthens your reputation as a connector.
Method 2: When a connection requests an introduction
If one of your connections wants to meet someone else in your network, they can send you a direct message asking you to make the introduction. The message will include their reason for wanting to connect.
Below the request you'll see two buttons.
- The first button takes you to the profile of the person they want to meet, so you can review them before deciding.
- The second button lets you make the introduction.
If you choose to move forward, Allie will draft an introduction message for you. Use it as a starting point, then rewrite it in your own words. Explain why you think they are a good match and why you are putting your trust behind the connection. Alignable then creates a shared group chat with all three of you.
Only make introductions you genuinely stand behind. Your reputation is attached to every one.
Method 3: From a connection's profile
You can proactively introduce any connection to another one of your connections directly from their profile.
- Go to the profile of the connection you want to introduce.
- Click Introduce.
- Select the connection you want to introduce them to.
- Allie drafts an introduction message for you. Use it as a starting point, then add your own details about why you think they are a good match and why you are putting your trust behind the connection.
- Confirm the introduction. Alignable creates a shared group chat with all three of you.
