A referral lets you pass along a connection's business information to another member who might benefit from working with them. When you send a referral, the recipient receives a direct message with a note from you and a link to that person's Alignable profile. Referrals are available to all Alignable members.
How Do I Send a Referral?
- Go to alignable.com and log in
- Search for the member you want to refer
- Click into their profile
- Click the three dots to the right of the Message and Recommend buttons
- Select Refer from the dropdown
- Type the name of the connection you want to send the referral to — you can only send referrals to your direct connections
- Click Send Referral
What Is the Difference Between a Referral and an Introduction?
A referral sends the recipient a message and a link to someone's profile. You are passing along information — the two people do not connect directly as part of the referral. This carries less reputational risk because you are sharing information rather than actively facilitating a relationship.
An introduction puts everyone in a group chat together, creating a direct connection between both members in real time. Introductions are available to paid Alignable members only.
