Smart Connect events are designed to create genuine, productive connections between Alignable members. To protect that experience for everyone, Alignable tracks behavior reports submitted by attendees. Here's how the reporting system works and what happens if your account receives reports.
What Can Be Reported?
Other members can report you during or after a Smart Connect event for any of the following:
- Inappropriate behavior or language
- Leaving the meeting early or without notice
- Being visibly distracted (phones, multitasking, not engaging)
- Being overly self-promotional instead of building a connection
Reports are only counted when they come from different members across different events. Multiple reports from the same person or the same event do not stack.
What Happens After Reports Are Filed?
First Warning
If you receive reports from 3 or more unique members across at least 3 different events, you will receive a warning email from Alignable. No access is lost at this stage — it's a heads-up to adjust your approach.
Temporary Loss of Access
If you receive 3 or more additional reports across at least 3 more events within 3 months of your first warning, you will temporarily lose access to Smart Connect events. To regain access, you'll need to attend a training session with the Alignable team.
Permanent Loss of Access
If you receive 3 or more additional reports across multiple events within 3 months of your temporary suspension, you will permanently lose access to Smart Connect events. The rest of your Alignable account remains active — this restriction applies to Smart Connect events only.
How to Have a Great Smart Connect Experience
The best way to avoid reports is to show up fully. Be present, be genuine, and focus on the other person — not your pitch. Members who approach Smart Connect with curiosity and generosity consistently build the strongest networks.
