Yes — when you upgrade to a higher membership plan, Alignable will credit you for the unused portion of your current billing period and apply it toward the cost of the new plan. You are only charged the difference.
How Pro-Ration Works: An Example
If you are on the Alignable Plan ($29/month) and upgrade to Premium ($49/month) halfway through your billing period (15 days in), here is what happens:
- Your $29.00 monthly fee is divided by 2, giving you a $14.50 credit for the unused half of the month
- That credit is applied to the cost of Premium: $49.00 − $14.50 = $34.50
- You are charged $34.50 at the time of upgrade, not the full $49.00
What You'll See at Checkout
Our payment processor, Stripe, displays the full plan price in the checkout screen — it does not show the prorated amount before you confirm. Do not be alarmed by this. Once the upgrade is complete, you will only be charged the prorated amount, not the full price shown. You can confirm the final amount charged by reviewing your receipt on Alignable.
