You can cancel a community sponsorship at any time. If you have multiple sponsorships, each one must be cancelled separately — cancelling one will not affect the others.
Before You Cancel: Understand Your Billing Type
Bundled Sponsorships (purchased through an Alignable ad rep): If your sponsorship has a minimum time commitment, you can cancel at any time, but you will continue to be charged through the end of that contractual term. For example, if you have a 3-month commitment and cancel during month 1, you will still be billed for months 2 and 3. Your ad will stop running after the minimum commitment ends and you will not be charged beyond that.
Individual Sponsorships (purchased through the Alignable website): You can cancel at any time. Your ad will continue to run through the end of the billing cycle in which you cancelled. You will not be charged again for that campaign after the cycle ends.
How to Cancel
- Log in to your Alignable account.
- Click the My Business (▼) dropdown and select Advertise.
- Scroll down to Current Sponsorships.
- Click Cancel Sponsorship.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Yes, I want to cancel.
- You will be prompted to provide a reason for cancellation. Complete the survey to finalize the cancellation.
Repeat these steps for each sponsorship you want to cancel.
What Happens to Your Dashboard After Cancellation
You retain full access to your Sponsorship Dashboard through the last day of your billing cycle. After your subscription ends, the dashboard becomes view-only. Specifically:
- Your Current Campaigns section will be empty.
- Ads you previously ran will move into a new Past Campaigns section, where you can still view them.
- You can no longer connect with leads directly from the dashboard or click into lead profile links.
- Metrics stop updating and the page becomes static.
Any connections you made through your sponsorship are not affected. Those members are part of your Alignable network and will remain your connections going forward.
Important Details
Cancelling sponsorship does not cancel your membership. Your Alignable paid membership stays active and must be cancelled separately if needed. See How Do I Cancel or Downgrade My Premium Membership?
No refunds are available for charges already processed. Cancelling stops future charges for that community once the current billing period ends.
