If you run a recurring event series and need to skip a future occurrence, you can do that without canceling the whole series. The skip option applies to upcoming occurrences that haven't been created yet in the series — all from the Manage Events tool.
When to Use "Skip" vs. "Cancel"
Use Skip when the occurrence hasn't been created yet in your recurring series. If the event already exists on the calendar with registered attendees, use the cancel or reschedule process instead. Not sure? Check your My Events list — if you can see it as a standalone event with a details page, cancel or reschedule applies.
How to Skip an Upcoming Recurring Event
- Go to the Groups tab and click My Events.
- Click on the recurring event you want to manage.
- On the event details page, click the 3 dots next to the Copy Meeting Link button.
- Expand the menu and select Manage Events.
- Choose the upcoming occurrence you want to skip.
Don't Forget to Give Notice
Even when skipping a future occurrence, you must notify your registrants at least 24 hours in advance using an event announcement. You also need to notify the appropriate Alignable team:
- Group Leaders, Co-Leaders, and Event Hosts: groupleaders@alignable.com
- Ambassadors and Co-Ambassadors: alliance@alignable.com
Skipping an occurrence without giving proper notice counts as a no-call/no-show and may affect your hosting privileges.
