Connection requests are how you grow your network on Alignable. You can accept or ignore any request you receive — the choice is yours.
How Do I Accept or Ignore a Connection Request?
- Click the Network icon in the top navigation bar
- Click Requests in the left menu to see your pending connection requests
- Select Accept or Ignore
- Clicking Accept connects you with that business and they receive a notification that their request was accepted.
- Clicking Ignore removes the request from your queue. The person is not notified — their request stays as pending so they cannot send you another one.
When Should I Ignore a Connection Request?
Not every connection request is worth accepting. It is completely normal — and good practice — to be selective about who you connect with. Consider ignoring a request if any of the following apply:
- You do not know this person and have no interest in connecting with them
- You do not believe this person will help move your business forward
- The request message reads like a sales pitch rather than a genuine introduction
- You know this person but prefer not to connect with them on Alignable
If you choose to ignore a connection request, the sender is not notified. The request will still show as pending on their side so they cannot send you another request.
Does Accepting or Ignoring a Request Use My Connection Credits?
Accepting or Ignoring a connection request does not use any of your connection credits — credits are for outbound requests only.
