How do I cancel my Community Advertising Sponsorship?

This article shows how to cancel a Community Advertising Sponsorship on Alignable IF you have not taken advantage of a discounted rate, a custom community bundle, or entered into a contract for a set period of time (i.e. 12 month sponsorship). These custom sponsorships must be cancelled through your ad strategist.

Need to adjust your sponsorship strategy? Here's how to cancel sponsorships for specific communities while keeping others active.

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Log into your Alignable Account.
  2. Click on the My Business (▼) dropdown on the top-right section of the site. In the dropdown, click Advertise.
  3. Click the Edit Ad in the Community you would like to stop sponsoring.
  4. Click "Cancel Sponsorship".
  5. A warning pop-up will appear. Choose “Yes, I want to cancel” to confirm the cancellation.
  6. You will also be prompted to give a reason for cancellation. Answer the survey to confirm the cancellation.
  7. You must cancel each community sponsorship individually or they will stay active.

Important Details

Individual Cancellation Required:

  • Each community sponsorship must be cancelled separately. Your other sponsorships will remain active unless you cancel them individually.
  • If you cancel your Sponsorship, your paid membership will still be active.  If you would like to cancel that as well, it will need to be done separately.  How do I cancel or downgrade my Premium Membership?

Billing Information:

  • Canceling stops future charges for that community
  • No refunds are available for charges already processed
  • Your sponsorship runs through your current billing period

Your Membership Stays Active: Canceling sponsorships doesn't affect your Alignable membership or any paid group memberships.

Need Help Deciding? Consider stopping or switching out sponsorships in underperforming communities while keeping your best-performing ones active. This lets you optimize your investment while maintaining visibility where it matters most.
