If you have ended up with more than one Alignable account, you can request a merge to combine your connections into a single account. The duplicate account is permanently deleted once the merge is complete.
Why Would I Need to Merge Accounts?
It is more common than you might think to end up with two accounts. Some common reasons include:
- You signed up twice using different email addresses
- A team member created a duplicate account on your behalf
- You forgot about an old account and signed up again as a new member
- You never deactivated an account tied to an old business
- You accidentally created a second account
What Transfers and What Does Not?
Before requesting a merge, it is important to understand what carries over to your primary account and what does not.
What transfers: your connections from the duplicate account.
What does not transfer: profile content (including images and business description), recommendations, and messages. All of this is permanently deleted along with the old account.
Important: you cannot merge a paid account into a free account. If one of your accounts has an active paid subscription, that account must be the primary account you are keeping.
What Do I Need Before I Submit?
Have the following ready before filling out the merge request form:
- The login email address or profile URL for each account
- Which account you want to keep as your primary account
- Which account you want merged in and deleted
This process is permanent and cannot be reversed once completed.
