Smart Connect℠ events are built around timed 1:1 breakout sessions — you'll meet a new connection every 7 minutes in a private video room. Here's what to expect from the moment you join.
When you first arrive
You'll land in the main room with the host and other attendees. The host will welcome everyone, set the tone for the event, and typically share an ice breaker question to help you ease into conversation. Take a moment to confirm your audio and video are working before the breakouts begin.
During breakout sessions
When the host starts the breakouts, you'll automatically be moved into a 1:1 room with another attendee. Each session is timed — when time is up, you'll return to the main room briefly before moving to the next breakout. Use the host's ice breaker question to open the conversation naturally. It's a short window, so jump right in.
If you run into issues
If you're having trouble hearing your partner or experiencing any technical issues, click the Contact Host button at the bottom of the screen. The host will be notified and can step in to help. You can also try refreshing your browser — after refreshing, you'll rejoin your breakout room right where you left off.
At the end of the event
When the host ends the event, don't close your browser. You'll be taken to a post-event page that shows everyone you met in a breakout session — this is your window to connect while the conversations are fresh.
