What Should My Sponsorship Ad Look Like?

Once you have chosen your ad type, here is how to make it as effective as possible.

Keep Your Copy Short

Keep text to a 250 character maximum. Your thumbnail will cut off anything longer, so keep your message short and sweet. Think of your ad as a teaser: the full details about your business live in your profile, not in the ad itself.

Build a Strong Custom Ad

When creating a Custom Ad it will ask you for a topic and generate 3 ad choices for you.  Once you select your favorite you will see fields for Image, Title, Subtitle, and Button Text which are able to be updated to your liking. A live preview shows on the right so you can see exactly how your ad will look as you build it.

Editing tips:

  • Image — Upload your own branded image or use the AI image generator to create one
  • Title — Your headline. Make it specific and speak directly to the problem you solve or the audience you serve
  • Subtitle — One short supporting line. Keep your total copy under 250 characters
  • Button Text — Tell people exactly what to do. "Learn More," "Book a Free Call," and "Get Started" all work well

For Product or Service Ads

The image attached to your product or service profile entry will appear in your ad by default. You can replace it with a custom image in the ad editor if you prefer something different.

Ad Pro Tips:

Update Your Image Regularly

Refresh your ad image at minimum every two to three weeks. Members stop noticing ads they have seen repeatedly and a fresh image is the fastest way to recapture attention.

Run Different Ads Per Community

You are not limited to one ad across all your communities. Run different ads in different communities and treat it as your own A/B testing tool to see what resonates with different audiences.
