Commenting on posts is one of the best ways to engage with other members on Alignable. Whether you're sharing advice, asking a question, or showing support, a thoughtful comment helps you build visibility and real relationships, and you can comment on posts from members you aren't connected to.
How to comment on a post
- Find a post in your feed, in your community, or in a group.
- Click Comment below the post.
- Type your comment in the text box that appears.
- Click Send to publish your comment.
Your comment will be visible to anyone who can see the original post.
Keep it relevant. Comments must be related to the post. Using the comment section to spam or promote your business will result in your comment being moderated and removed. See What Will Get My Post Removed in an Alignable Group? for more information.
Tips for commenting effectively
Be specific. A comment like "Great point about cash flow — I ran into the same issue last quarter" will get more engagement than a generic "Great post!"
Ask a question. Questions invite a reply and keep the conversation going, which increases your visibility in the feed.
Tag other members. You can tag someone in your network by typing @ followed by their name and they'll get a notification. Use this sparingly, as you don't want to create unnecessary noise and distraction for your network.
Note: You cannot add images, GIFs, or videos to comments.
Replying to a comment
To reply directly to someone's comment, click Reply beneath their comment and type your response. This threads the conversation so it's easy to follow.
