Yes — Smart Connect℠ events on Alignable are transcribed. This article explains where and to whom the transcription is disclosed, where this is disclosed and your consent is obtained, what you are consenting to, and how the transcript may be used by Alignable
Where Is This Disclosed?
Before you enter any Smart Connect℠ event, you will see the following notice on the waiting room screen:
"This meeting is being transcribed to enable creation of meeting transcripts and summaries. By joining the meeting, you consent to such recording."
Hosts are also coached to announce the transcription at the start of each session so every participant is aware before the event begins. By clicking Join Event, you are consenting to the transcription of that meeting.
What Is Transcribed?
The entire Smart Connect℠ meeting is transcribed, including all breakout rooms.
Who Can See The Transcript From The General Smart Connect℠ Meeting?
The transcript from the Main Room of a Smart Connect℠ event is not shared with attendees. The Main Room includes the portions of the event before breakout rooms begin, between breakout sessions, and after breakout rooms have ended.
Main Room transcripts are available only to authorized Alignable team members and are used to support the operation of Smart Connect℠ events. This includes purposes such as Group Leader coaching, event moderation, and Trust & Safety. They also support our use of AI, as described in our Terms and Conditions, including to detect spam and improve user experience.
Who Can See My Breakout Room Summary?
Breakout room content is not accessible to the wider group. Summaries generated from each breakout room are locked to general access — they are only made available to the specific participants who were in that room together, and only once those participants connect with each other on Alignable. In other words, if you and the other participant in the breakout room do not connect with each other on Alignable, the summary will not be made available to either of you.
No one outside your breakout group — including facilitators or other attendees — can access what was discussed in your room. If you are a paid member, once you connect with your breakout partner, you will have access to the summary as a follow-up tool, similar to a note-taking app like Gemini or Grain.

What Is the Transcript Used For by Alignable?
Transcripts are used to support paid membership features that help you get more out of your Smart Connect℠ conversations, including:
- Meeting summaries — a record of what was discussed, available to breakout room participants once they connect with each other.
- AI-generated conversation starters and follow-up suggestions — based on the topics discussed, to help you continue the conversation after the event ends.
The goal of these features is to help paid members remember their conversations and make it easier to build meaningful, ongoing business relationships.
