The Search function is the best tool for finding specific businesses or discovering new ones by industry, location, reputation, or relationship. You can search by business name, person's name, service offering, or business type — or use filters to browse a targeted list of members worth connecting with.
How Do I Search for New Connections?
- Go to Search
- Type in a business name, person's name, service offering, or business type — or leave the search bar empty to browse with filters
- Select one or more industry categories from the dropdown
- Select one or more cities, states, or provinces to narrow by location
- Apply reputation filters to surface trusted businesses (see below)
- Apply relationship filters to see how you are connected (paid members only — see below)
- Click on a member's name to review their profile before connecting
- Click Connect to send a connection request
What Do the Search Filters Do?
Reputation filters help you find businesses with a strong track record on Alignable:
- Highly Recommended — businesses that have received 25 or more recommendations from other members
- My Network Recommends — businesses that someone in your existing network has recommended
Relationship filters show you how you are connected to someone (available to paid members only):
- 1st Degree — your direct connections
- 2nd Degree — connections of your connections
