Alignable is all about building a safe, trusted, and professional place for business owners to meet, get to know each other, share advice and build new relationships. These guidelines are in place to ensure the safety and professionalism that allows our members to find success on Alignable.

The guidelines will serve as a guide to show what is not allowed to be shared on Alignable, for more information on what you should post please take a look at our content creation guide. We encourage you to look over these guidelines to develop a clear understanding of what is not allowed and ensure you find success on Alignable.

1. Be Safe

• Do not threaten or promote violence:

  To promote safe and healthy interactions we don't allow any conversation that promotes or glorifies violence against people, places or animals to be circulated on Alignable.

• Do not harass or threaten other businesses or people on Alignable

  To ensure our members feel safe and encouraged to participate in the community and group discussions we don't allow the threatening or harassing of other businesses and members.

• Do not share harmful or disturbing material

  We don't allow any content that could be considered gruesome or shocking or content that displays, rationalizes, or encourages suicide, self-injury, eating disorders, or substance abuse.

• Do not share inappropriate and offensive language or images

  We don't allow any language or images that can be found offensive or are otherwise inappropriate and unsuitable for a professional networking site like Alignable.

• Do not discriminate or use hate speech of any kind

  We don't tolerate any form of hate aimed at others on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, caste, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, disability, medical status, job, industry, or role.

• Do not post terrorist content or promote terrorism

  We don’t allow any terrorist organizations or violent extremist groups on our platform. And we don’t allow any individuals who are affiliated with such organizations or groups to promote their activities.

• Do not share contact information (phone number, email address, or business address) in the public forums

  To protect our members from their contact information being taken by unintended parties and being used for spam and solicitation, we don't allow contact information to be shared in any public forum on Alignable. Instead, we encourage members to keep this information strictly on their profile and if they would like to directly exchange information with another member, we urge them to connect and to share the information securely over messages. By connecting, you are also growing your network, increasing your visibility, and enabling you and the other members to refer and recommend each other.

2. Be Trustworthy

• Do not share false or misleading content

  To limit the potential harm and spread of misinformation, Alignable does not allow content that includes inaccurate or misleading information and/or media.

• Do not intentionally participate in spam or scams

  To make certain every member has a positive and valuable experience on Alignable, we do not allow unsolicited or unauthorized advertising. We discourage the spamming of content in an attempt to increase visibility for commercial purposes or the spamming of unsolicited promotional direct messages. Instead, we advise members to create unique and original content that gives value to other members and results in trust and relationships being built.

• Do not impersonate or pose in a way that misrepresents your identity

  To make certain our members are having meaningful discussions with real small business owners, we don’t allow fake profiles or businesses. Do not post misleading or deceptive information about yourself or your business. Do not impersonate a business that you are not associated with.

• Do not promote irrelevant or dishonest fundraisers

  Fundraising should be limited to cases that are strictly local or business-related. We want to stress the importance of any fundraising link posted on Alignable to be from a reputable site or to link directly to the recipient of the donations. Do not post a fundraising link without the reasoning behind or cause for the fundraiser. We also want to remind members to always be cautious when donating to fundraisers and to not send funds through illegitimate websites. • Ban Evasion

  Do not use or threaten to use a different Alignable account to continue to participate in a community or group after being banned/removed.

3. Keep it Professional

• Do not interact with others or share content in a way that’s irrelevant, inappropriate, disrespectful, or otherwise inflammatory

  In the interest of allowing all members to receive value from Alignable, we want to stress the importance of sharing relevant, helpful, and appropriate content in context to the place it is being shared. • Do not share content containing sexually explicit material or language

  We do not allow members to post sexually explicit or suggestive content. Some adult content may be allowed if the intent is clearly educational, medical, scientific, or artistic.

• Do not engage in unwanted advances

  We want members to feel safe and comfortable having professional relationships with other business owners, so we don't allow members to make undesirable sexual advances and remarks or in general, pursue romantic connections on Alignable.

4. Follow the law and respect other's rights

• Comply with all applicable laws

  Including without limitation, privacy and anti-spam laws, intellectual property laws, export control laws, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

• Do not sell or encourage the sale of illegal goods or services

  If your business is legal in your state, we will allow you to use Alignable.

• Do not commit fraud

  We prohibit users from purposefully deceiving or exploiting others for money. We want to do everything in our power to prevent our members and their businesses from being the victim of fraudulent activity. We ask that any fraud committed on Alignable be reported here to allow for investigation and proper action to be taken on the reported member's account, and if the fraud was not committed on Alignable, we urge members to contact their local authorities.

• Do not solicit contact information from Alignable members you don't know without authorization

  We do not allow users to utilize unethical tactics with the intent to take contact information and spam/solicit others. We do not allow members to conduct "research surveys" to collect the contact information of other members.

• Do not disclose information you do not have the right to disclose

  Do not share any personal or confidential information of others, including your employer. Do not post or distribute content depicting children without the necessary consent from their legal guardian or parent.

• Respect the intellectual property of others

  Do not violate the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, or other proprietary rights. Do not copy or repost an Alignable user's content without their permission.

5. Respect Alignable's Rights
